Special Session: Culture and Tourism in the Age of Artificial Intelligence
The economy of the future is characterised by a paradigm shift towards a focus on experiences, driven by the transformative impact of artificial intelligence-based digital technologies on the culture and tourism sector. The session, entitled "Culture and Tourism in the Age of Artificial Intelligence", is designed to address the opportunities and challenges created by digitalisation, artificial intelligence and smart solutions in the field of tourism and cultural heritage. Intelligent economies are reshaping the tourism sector in line with important goals such as sustainable development and global equality, while enabling the preservation of cultural values and the creation of new experiences.
In this session, the impact of technological advancements on tourism and cultural heritage will be explored in depth, with a focus on strategies to ensure sustainability in future tourism initiatives. The revitalisation of cultural heritage in the digital environment and the role of artificial intelligence and robotic technologies in this process will be discussed. An evaluation will be conducted on how these technologies transform visitor experiences and the advantages they offer in transferring cultural values to new generations.
The participants will engage in a discussion on the manner in which technology is transforming cultural heritage and tourism, along with the economic and social ramifications of this transformation. They will delve into the contributions of AI-driven tourism approaches to sustainability and equity objectives, and engage in a discourse on innovative approaches that are poised to shape the experiential economies of the future.
